Dive Instruction

Coastal Marine Diving Supplies we realize that a good diver never stops learning -that's why we offer many levels of PADI certifications.

Begin learning to scuba dive with an open water class.  Through PADI e-learning you can study all diving theory at your own convenience and at your own home! There are no classroom sessions involved and you will see your instructor for all wet sessions. Throughout the online course you will be taking quizzes and at the end a final exam. Once you have finished the online course, contact CMDS for our diving water sessions.

The first water session will be a day at the local pool, where you will be asked to complete important and basic scuba tasks underwater. At the completion of the pool session you will do four dives in open water environment, and experience the fun and excitement scuba diving has to offer.

This course gives you the opportunity to continue your education and venture into new areas of diving - such as deep dives, night dives, underwater navigation and search & recovery - these experiences will aid you in diving comfortably in exciting environments.  In  Advanced Open Water, unlike Open Water, the ocean is our classroom.  You meet your instructor to familiarize yourself with the academics and then do your new studies in the water.

This course is both challenging and rewarding as you expand your diving knowledge and skills. This certification involves difficult tasks to understand how to handle emergency situations including other related diving issues that can occur at any moment of the dive.

The Rescue Diver course is performance based that involves classroom, confined water, and open water skill development sessions that prepare you to help prevent, and if necessary, manage dive emergencies from simple to the more complex.

What you will learn in the Rescue Class: Self rescue; Recognizing and managing stress in other divers; Emergency management and equipment; Rescuing panicked divers; and rescuing unresponsive divers.

Enriched air or "Nitrox" is a breathing gas other the air.  Enriched air divers dive with oxygen nitrox mixes of up to 40 oxygen.  By elevating the amount of oxygen in your breathing gas you extend your "no decompression"limits at a certain depth. Minimum age for this course is 12 years old. Pre-requisite certification is Open Water.

What you will learn in the Nitrox Course: Technique for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox; Enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations; and enriched air considerations, including managing oxygen exposure, and how to tell what is in your scuba tank and how to set your dive computer.
